Welcome

The Bean Genie is a proudly Gisborne based and owned espresso dispensary dedicated to serving consistent quality espresso to go utilising locally made and sourced organic, fair traded and eco friendly produce and packaging.

Accompanied by a select food menu, The Bean Genie offers an oasis on the CBD fringe for parched espresso lovers.

The Bean Genie is an eco friendly and socially conscious business where we minimise waste, recycle, compost and strongly urge the use of reusable cups.

We have plentiful street parking, a loyalty program in place, eco friendly packaging (including compostable lids!), organic and fair traded coffee, milk, chocolate & cinnamon.

The entire fit out of The Bean Genie was completed using repurposed furniture.

Being a socially conscious business, The Bean Genie does not sell fizzy drinks

"The three beans the genie is seen juggling are three wishes with the customer in mind... They stand for quality, consistently and quickness. Of course good things take time, and most people understand if there is a bit of a rush on, there may be a little wait.

It was brought to the genie's attention that in Italy, three coffee beans (tre fagioli) are served with sambucca representing health, happiness and prosperity. The beans float to the top of the sambucca and are referred to as 'the flies' "
